Usage Guidelines
The contents of this page are a summary of key information to be aware of when using our facilities. For more details, please check the INTEX Osaka User’s Guide.
Event organizers who need a copy of the INTEX Osaka User’s Guide should contact their designated representative.
Facility Management
The organizer must appoint a safety manager and manage and operate the event with safety as the top priority. All accidents that occur during the period of use are the responsibility of the user. Take all possible measures to prevent accidents and ensure organizational safety.
We ask that organizers use our facilities under the care of a prudent manager at all times. In the event of damage to or loss of buildings, auxiliary equipment, furnishings, etc., the user shall be responsible for restoration to the original condition of the object in question or paying for the damage or loss of said object.
Management Responsibilities
Take all possible safety precautions to ensure that exhibits and various structures are self-supporting and secured against falling while in use or due to external forces.
Assign at least one dedicated security guard to the back yard of the exhibition hall being used to organize vehicles and reduce congestion.
If a convoy of vehicles is expected on public roads, assign additional security guards to guide vehicles along the public road.
To prevent accidents such as fire or theft, assign at least one night security guard per hall from the first day of facility use.
Cleaning Management
During the period of use, users are responsible for cleaning the exhibition halls and auxiliary facilities (exhibition hall offices, kitchens, restrooms, storage, pits, etc.), conference rooms, and other individual spaces.
Users are responsible for properly disposing of industrial waste such as waste oils, metal shavings, and other cutting scraps, leftover debris, and chemicals that are no longer needed in association with the actual use of exhibits. Never pour or flush these waste items into facility pits, restrooms, etc.
Do not pour paint or glue associated with decorations into facility pits, restrooms, etc.
In the event that waste disposal/removal is not completed by the end of the period of use, the user will be charged the amount required to restore the space to its original condition.
Loading and Unloading
of Exhibits and Decorations
Discuss loading and unloading logistics with your designated representative in advance and ensure sufficient safety with the appropriate number of security guards and guidance plans.
All exhibits and decorations, regardless of size, must be carried in and out through each exhibition hall’s loading dock.
Make every effort to minimize noise and avoid disturbing the surrounding community during loading and unloading operations.
Weight Restrictions
When loading/unloading or installing heavy objects, take measures to distribute the load to avoid concentrated pressure on the floors.
The maximum floor load (static) capacities are as follows:
ScrollFloor Surface | Maximum Load (Static) | Applicable Facilities |
---|---|---|
Asphalt floor | 5.0 t/m2 | Halls 1–5 Zone A, Hall 6 Zones A & B |
Concrete floor | 1.0 t/m2 2.0 t/m2 |
Hall 5 Zone B Hall 6 Zones C & D |
INTEX Plaza interlocking pavers | 0.5 t/m2 | - |
Resin-coated concrete | 0.55 t/m2 | Hall 6 Sunlit Gallery |
When installing exhibits, do not place outriggers for heavy lifting equipment on the sub-pit covers.
Decoration Work
By law, INTEX Osaka is designated as a specified property under fire prevention measures. All evacuation routes within the exhibition halls must lead to emergency exits and stairways, and the width of all emergency exits and stairways must be wide enough to function effectively. The installation or placement of any equipment or items that obstruct these paths is also prohibited.
Additionally, use only event decorations and other related items that are made of fire-retardant materials.
For details on creating evacuation route plans or the use of fire-retardant products, please consult with your designated representative in advance.
The use of fire in the exhibition halls is prohibited. However, if the use of fire is necessary for exhibition demonstrations and other matters, it may be used only when certain conditions of use are observed and permission has been obtained from the fire department. Please note that the use of fire will not be allowed without prior permission.
In addition, there will be other areas where setup will be restricted to avoid interference with or damage to facilities and equipment, and to coordinate with concurrent events. For more details, contact your designated representative.
Construction and Use
of Electricity, Water, Gas, Compressed Air, Etc.
Users are required to submit a construction work notification form and construction drawings to their designated representative.
Ensure that any construction is performed properly under the guidance or supervision of qualified personnel, in accordance with laws, regulations, and the INTEX Osaka User’s Guide. For more details, contact your designated representative.
During an event, the organizer is responsible for the maintenance and management of electricity, water, gas, and compressed air, and must have a contractor on site respond promptly in the event of an accident. Additionally, please be sure to close the main valve in the main pit every day after event hours.
Use
of City Gas
After obtaining prior approval from the fire department, users must apply to Promotion Office in Energy Business Development of Osaka Gas at least one month in advance.
Work
in the Main Pit
Solo work (one person) in the main pit is prohibited.
Bringing hazardous materials into the main pit and smoking in the main pit are prohibited.
When performing pipe connection work in the main pit, the use of gas burners (oxygen and acetylene cylinders), electric welding machines, or any other equipment that produces open flames or sparks is prohibited.
Floor Work and Restoration
The user must submit a Floor Work Construction Notification Form and Anchor Drawing (a drawing clearly indicating the anchor installation locations, along with the sizes and number of anchor bolts) to our Business Department. Installing anchors without prior notice and approval is strictly prohibited.
Anchor bolt installations shall be limited to asphalt areas only. Only core-driving type anchors with a diameter of 16 mm or less and a shield depth of 60 mm or less can be installed.
However, anchor bolts cannot be installed in the following asphalt areas:
(1) Halls 1–5 Zone A: Within 300 mm of the concrete edge of floor pits
(2) Hall 6 Zones A & B: Within 500 mm of the edges of the main or sub-pits
Additionally, anchor bolt installation is completely prohibited on all floor surfaces in Hall 5 Zone B and Hall 6 Zones C and D due to their concrete flooring.
The user shall discuss the extent of floor restoration work (asphalt) with their designated representative, order the work directly from a contractor, have it completed within the period of use, and have the work inspected by the Disaster Prevention Center before the facility is handed back.
Anchor bolts must be completely removed (merely cutting off the bolt heads is not permitted), and asphalt roadbed material must be filled and compacted to restore the floor to its original condition.
Other Guidelines
Handling of Found Objects
The organizers must manage any items found both during and after the period of use and are required to report such items to the local police station and other authorities. As a general rule, INTEX Osaka does not accept found items.
Bicycle Use
Bicycle parking for visitors is not available within the premises. If necessary during the event, parking should be set up under the management and operation of the organizers. Additionally, bicycles used for transportation during loading and unloading are permitted only within the exhibition halls and in the back yard areas.
Prohibition on Pets and Animals
Except for guide dogs and other service animals, pets and animals are not allowed on the INTEX Osaka premises. However, special exemptions apply to pet exhibitions and other events where the main purpose is to view animals. Please check with a representative if this applies to your event.
Staff Assembly and Waiting Outside the Premises
To avoid obstructing the daily routines of nearby residents, staff should refrain from gathering or waiting in the areas around Nakafuto Station or Cosmosquare Stations.
